Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)

Service

In FDM 3D printing (also known as Fused Filament Fabrication), industrial-strength thermoplastics are used to create functional prototypes and end-use parts. The finished pieces are strong, paintable, and can be sealed to become watertight. During printing, molten plastic is laid down in successive layers, building a thin slice of the model at a time. This layer hardens, and the platform lowers. This cycle repeats until the entire model is complete. Like SLA printing, FDM parts may require support structures, which are usually easy to remove for most materials. We provide additional services like painting, smoothing, waterproofing, and vapor polishing to achieve a sleek, high-gloss finish on your parts. Our biggest build volume is 36″ x 24″ x 36″
